Dear Friends,
In 2021, when we started fundraising for the building’s renovations, I asked all of our donors to make a multiyear financial commitment. I told them that they should choose an amount that is “a bit uncomfortable.” In other words, it should be a commitment that stings in the wallet a little, maybe forces them to cut back on personal luxuries and makes a small sacrifice.
And my family did the same. My wife and I made a three-year pledge of $15,000 to the campaign … and then we decided to go one extra year and made it an even $20,000. It stung to be sure, but when I look at the work our team has accomplished, the appreciation on the faces of our clients, and the lives that have been saved, I know, beyond any modicum of doubt, that it was worth it.
And it’s still worth it. That’s why my wife and I are pledging an annual contribution of (at least) $2,500 for the next five years to support DESK’s operations. We helped build this incredible program; now we’re going to help sustain it.
Please join me in making a multiyear commitment.
In this way, we can continue to provide lifesaving services for those in our community who are most in need, and build a better future for everyone.
Yours in services,
